Meet the candidateBrittany was a high school teacher who is now devoting her time as a mama of two and the co-founder and current Vice President of Social Justice Advocacy Project, a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to empowering individuals in the community. She believes that with just a little bit of support, anyone can be an advocate and that our communities are strongest when everyone feels empowered enough to get involved. As its Operations Director since 2016, Brittany spearheaded initiatives such as a region-wide Truth and Reconciliation Program, pro bono legal clinics, and workshops whose focus is to promote community education and civic engagement. Brittany’s service to her community and passion for education began when she was still a student herself and volunteered to teach bible study to preschoolers at her church, then Christ Church of the Valley, in San Dimas. After college, she worked as a SES tutor and college prep instructor where she saw the spectrum of educational need and opportunities. After studying Education at the University of La Verne. she taught at Western Christian High School for four years before becoming a mother to two beautiful children. Since then, she has devoted her personal, professional and social life to serving the community.
